Ian D Hawgood 03/11/07 00:45
4 tracks of enormous beauty are presented by Ian D Hawgood on "The Fire Will Die At Night". With great soundscapes and multiple layers of different soundsources, this EP catches you and leaves you with a soft shiver over your back. Ian creates a warm and gentle ambience with soft glitches, some percussions, beats and wide spaces. All woven together very, very subtley.
Enjoy this great piece of music on the border between ambient and electronica.
I avoided this artist's work for a while- only because he is so wildly popular, and the people who reviewed it were just gushing tooooooo much, which was puzzling to me-- but slowly, his sound started to sink into my psyche-- which may be the only way it works-- S L O W L Y --- like the music itself...
Piles and piles of processed guitars with other instruments and sounds...
Give it a listen-- even if it doesn't work for you first time around, it will no doubt leave a subtle impression and will leave you wondering what a second listen may be like- and then a third--
Here it is, the new generation of Ambient http://www.archive.org/details/rb016
